I enjoyed Evan's speech and I am proud of him and the other young folks who are jamming together (and with us oldsters). They add a lot to it and they will keep the old time music going!

Yea Joe - I think you described it perfectly. As long as it's "Old-School" and Acoustic, it should be fine. I'm hearing a lot of young groups out there half my age, and I'm not that old, that are playing some great oldtime string music. It's not as raw maybe as the Skillet Lickers or Uncle Dave, but still in the oldtime tradition. They have a bit of a folk sound to them, which I like growing up in the 50's and 60's, but it's still old-timey with the fiddles, and clawhammer banjo, and some great harmony. Just a bit more refined.

I'm glad that our club Constitution and By-Laws are posted on the website. Sometimes I forget to give new members a copy. The rest of us need to review them from time to time so that we keep our purpose of preserving (and enjoying) traditional acoustic music). When a new member asks me "How old does it have to be?", I tell them that the older the better, but as long as it is acoustic, is played in the old style, and deals with the old times., or old places, it will be o.k. What do you think?
